London:

England is set to name an unchanged lineup for the third and final Test against India starting on Thursday with pace bowler Matthew Hoggard still recovering from a back injury.

Hoggard returns to cricket with county club Yorkshire this weekend after missing the first two tests against India, but coach Peter Moores is doubtful he'll be ready for test at The Oval.

"The challenge for Hoggard will be to be fit and to have played enough cricket, and that might be difficult for him," Moores said on Friday.

Hoggard has already missed five of England's last seven Tests.

He only played in the first and fourth Tests of England's 3-0 series win against West Indies in May and June, and missed the fifth Ashes test in Australia as England lost 5-0.

His absence means England will likely stick with its pace attack of Chris Tremlett, James Anderson and Ryan Sidebottom, along with left-arm finger spinner Monty Panesar.

Fast bowler Stuart Broad, who has yet to make his test debut, is also in the mix as a possible replacement for Anderson.

Moores announces his team on Sunday.

England trails the series 1-0 after a seven-wicket loss to India at Nottingham last week and a rain-affected first-test draw at Lord's.

England needs a win to preserve a six-year unbeaten run in home test series.

That run stretches for 41 tests and 11 series since England lost the Ashes at home six years ago. India has not won a series in England since 1986.

"As a team, the individuals have played pretty well," Moores said. "Some people have missed out but I think everyone is playing pretty good cricket, but we need to think about things and make a decision."
