Grade A is up from Rs 50 lakhs a year to 60. Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and Anil kumble have been retained while Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni and Zaheer Khan have been promoted up to the highest grade.

Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag who were in this category have been left out, poor form no doubt being the reason.

Grade B is up by Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 40 lakhs a year. Laxman, Harbhajan and Sehwag find themselves demoted down to this grade.

Gautam Gambhir, Wasim Jaffer, Sreesanth and RP Singh have however been rewarded by being taken up to this grade which previously only had four players.

Grade C is up from Rs 20 lakhs to 25. It now has Pathan, Agarkar, Powar, Munaf, Uthappa, Piyush chawla and Suresh Raina.

There is now a new grade D as well which includes as many as 11 players - the three Sharma's on the fringe of international cricket. There is a return for Akaash Chopra while Irfan's brother Yusuf is also in this list. Any player from this list who features in five Tests or 15 ODIs will automiatically be pushed up to grade C.
