Indian Premier League Commissioner Lalit Modi had gone to Johannesburg on Tuesday in connection with the second edition of the Twenty20 league.

Modi had earlier refused to concede South Africa as favourite to host the lucrative tournament saying it was logistically easier for him to travel to the rainbow nation first.

"We will have to evaluate clearly and carefully before coming to a decision about the venue. We also need to take the weather pattern into consideration as well," Modi said.

In the meantime, fans were also asked whether the decision to hold the IPL outside India is a good decision or disgrace for India. Majority of the votes went to the latter option.

The decision to shift the Twenty20 tournament out of the country came when BCCI's emergency Working Committee meeting was held on Sunday to take a final call on the cash-rich event which had run into rough weather because of security apprehensions.

"Because of the attitude of the government that they are not ready to spare security forces for the cricket tournament... we are forced to take the decision to move the event out of India," BCCI President Shashank Manohar told a press conference.

The Indian Board also apologised to the people of India for taking the League out of the country.
