We are used to lawyers and judges clashing in the courtroom but when they move the battle to the cricket pitch then it's a whole different ball game.

Mumbai's Wankhede stadium played host to a pitched battle between the men in black in a Twenty20 match as lawyers and judges of the Bombay High Court turned out in cricketing whites to have a go at each other.

And at the end of the innings, the judges tot up a handsome 120 runs. Lawyers were not far behind.

Advocate Parveen Samdani led the lawyers to victory but withdrew rather abruptly. "I thought I had played enough and we always follow orders," he said.

While it is not clear whose 'orders' Samdani was following, Chief Justice Swatanter Kumar has an admitted that the match would have ended differently had Samdani continued playing.

So while the judges snatched victory, their adversaries lost by a measly two runs.
