Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik on day suffered an ankle injury during the team's training after the first Test at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground.

Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik on day suffered an ankle injury during the team's training after the first Test at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground.

The players of visiting team, which lost the opener against India by 6 wickets, were playing football during the subsequent training session when Malik "slightly twisted his ankle".

"After the match the boys were playing football when Shoaib slightly twisted his ankle," said Pakistani team media co-ordinator Javed Akhtar Siddiqui.

"He was taken to a hospital for precautionary X-ray so there's nothing much. We have still not got the reports," he said.

The second Test in the three-match series between the two teams will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, from November 30.
