So that's it from us for this game. Zimbabwe have leveled the ODI series and made the contest exciting for everyone. Sri Lanka on the other hand will want to brush this defeat aside and come back stronger when they take on the visitors for the series decider in Hambantota on the 10th of July at 0945 local (0415 GMT). Hope you liked our coverage of this match. Goodbye, take care and cheers!
Zimbabwe skipper, Graeme Cremer says that they were ahead when the rain was coming. Applauds his batsmen for batting really well. Mentions that they believe they can chase down the total so they are not under any pressure for the decider. Ends by saying that they pulled it back in the last 10 overs with the ball.
Sri Lanka skipper, Angelo Mathews says that it was disappointing as not many times a team scoring 300 ends up on the losing side. Credits Zimbabwe for how they batted but feels that their bowlers didn't hit the right areas. Praises Dickwella and Gunathilaka's knocks, which set up the platform for them. Adds that the pitch slowed down a touch later on. Ends by saying that they should step up their game for the series decider.
Man of the Match, Craig Ervine says that it wasn't too bad to come back after the break as they had the target in their mind. Reckons that they will look to perform their best and make it count in the decider.
After the break, the visitors had a target of 219 (DLS method) in 31 overs set in front of them. They were off to a shaky start as they lost Williams and Raza. However, amongst all this, Ervine kept his cool, scored an unbeaten half century and took his side across the finish line. Apart from Hasaranga, all the other bowlers didn't look much threatening. Malinga and Gunaratne were slightly better in terms of economy while Sandakan and debutant Fernando had a day to forget.
ZIMBABWE HAVE LEVELED THE SERIES 2-2! This pushes the series into the decider now. After not getting off to a good start, the visitors did well to restrict Sri Lanka to 300. Their openers then got off to a flier and kept the required run rate in check. However, both of them got out in quick succession which pegged them back. However, Musakanda and Ervine then added 46 runs to steady the ship. The former then lost his wicket and at the wrong time as rain halted play soon after that.
