Little time to prepare pitch: Dambulla curator

The curator conceded that the 22-yards for Wednesday's first ODI between India and Sri Lanka will have something for both batsmen and bowlers.

Dambulla:

The curator here on Tuesday conceded that he got little time to prepare the pitch but said the 22-yard for Wednesday's first one-dayer between India and Sri Lanka will have something for both batsmen and bowlers.

"We had very short time to prepare the pitch and the outfield. But it would be a good pitch," Sri Lanka Cricket's official curator Anurudda Polonowita said today.

He said continued rain throughout Saturday had forced the pitch to be kept under covers.

"Luckily we got two good days of bright sunshine yesterday and today," Polonowita said.

Sri Lanka have so far won 14 out of 20 matches at Dambulla, while India have won three of their seven games here.

Dambulla, a picturesque setting in Sri Lanka's dry north central zone, has a reputation for its low scoring games.
