Leicestershire have announced that they will host a new format of Twenty20 cricket in September this year.

London: It's being billed as the champions' league of cricket, a new format of 20/20 cricket that is going global. Leicestershire have announced that they will host the event in September this year. The tournament will feature six teams and nine games. Somerset the 20/20 champions in England will take on the pro-20 champions from South Africa the Nashua Titans, while India and Pakistan will field a joint team. The teams have been drawn in groups of three and will play two group matches on the Thursday and Friday of the tournament. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the finals day on Saturday which will consist of two semi-finals and a final. There is a £25,000 first prize at stake, and the title of International 20:20 Club Champions. (With wire inputs)
