A fortnight after splitting with his wife, Brett Lee is back with the Australian side to prepare for the Indian tour.

Melbourne:

Barely a fortnight after splitting with his wife, Australian pace spearhead Brett Lee today ended his self-imposed exile and joined his teammates in Darwin to mentally prepare for next month's Test tour to India.

Lee, who withdrew from the ongoing ODI series against Bangladesh after the break-up with Liz Kemp, has never played a Test in India and will be desperate to perform in the cricket-mad country.

The veteran paceman, however, will not be available for selection for Australia's final one-dayer against Bangladesh at the Marrara Sports Complex on Saturday and will return home on Thursday, The Age reported.

With Andrew Symonds almost certain to miss the Indian tour following disciplinary action, Lee's signal that he will be available for selection of the India tour is a welcome development for the Australians.

Except for a brief statement through Cricket Australia, Lee has not commented publicly on his break-up with Kemp, nor his immediate cricketing plans.

Lee has spent the past week dealing with the fall out from the split and issues involving his son Preston.
