Colombo: VVS Laxman will stay on in Colombo but he is unlikely to play tomorrow's match between India and Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup. Today, Laxman came to practice with the team. However the captain put the record straight as to why no replacement had been called for yet. The India A team is in Zimbabwe and it'll be difficult for somebody to fly out and come all the way here," said Sourav Ganguly, Indian captain. Sourav however did say that despite the loss to Pakistan, there was something positive about the situation that India are in ahead of their game against Sri Lanka. "The only positive thing is that it's our last chance and we'll have to fire. There have been instances where we have delivered when the chips were down." said Ganguly. Meanwhile, Muthiah Muralitharan came for practice with the Sri Lankan team. However, he got to know later in the day that his grandfather had passed away. He is now going to Kandy for the funeral and will miss the match against India. Chaminda Vaas stayed away from the nets session because of a flu, while Sangakara was there but didn't manage to get enough practice since he is unwell too. Eyeing the top spot But despite all this Sri Lanka are quite clear they want to beat India. They also did not say who they would prefer to play in the final. "Pakistan have a good bowling attack and India have a strong batting line-up. On a given day, both India and Pakistan can be tricky. But we would rather concentrate on our performance than think about who the opposing team will be," said Marvan Atapattu, Sri Lankan captain. However, the Lankans are aware that if they remain unbeaten in this tournament, they will go on to claim the second spot in the ICC rankings.
