St Lucia:

West Indies have recalled Brian Lara for the two-Test series against Pakistan, starting on Thursday in Barbados. Lara was rested for the three-match one-day series that ended on Sunday. Pakistan swept the rubber 3-0 for its first series triumph in 47 years of Caribbean tours. Joey Carew, convenor of the West Indies selection panel, believes that Lara would add another element to the team. "The return of Brian Lara adds another element to the team. He is rested and will doubtlessly return invigorated. As the senior player in the team and the leading personality in world cricket, he will also inject a deeper sense of professionalism," Carew said. Ian Bradshaw, Devon Smith, Reon King and Corey Collymore also found a place in the 13-member squad. The first Test starts on Thursday at Kensington Oval. The second in the two-Test series is at Sabina Park in Jamaica from June 3-7. (With AP inputs)
