Kirsten's mother passes away

Durban:

Indian cricket coach Gary Kirsten's ailing mother Gayl Hall today passed away in Cape Town after losing a battle against cancer.

Gayl was 64 and undergoing treatment for the lung cancer at the Vincent Pallotti Hospital.

Kirsten had left for South Africa on Wednesday to attend to her giving a miss to the third and final cricket Test between India and Sri Lanka.

Kirsten was to join the team for the five-match one-day series but now it remains to be seen when he would be able to return to be among the players.
