The man who is likely to be the next coach of the Indian cricket team, Gary Kirsten has told NDTV that he hasn't made a final decision yet.

Kirsten said, "No I haven't made a final decision as yet. I have been given a week by the BCCI to accept the contract."

The former South African batsman was also in a controversy over his anti-India comments from a tour diary written ten years ago stopped short of an apology. He said this matter is all in the past now.

Defending his act he said, "I am aware of those comments but you see it was a long time back and things have moved on since then and my role has changed now. My job is to make the Indian cricket side a good one and a consistent one."

Kirsten feels very honoured to be given this responsibility.
