Team India discard Mohammad Kaif will lead Central Zone in Prof D B Doedhar trophy to be played on league cum knockout tournament at Cuttack.

Team India discard Mohammad Kaif will lead Central Zone in Prof D B Doedhar trophy to be played on league cum knockout tournament at Cuttack from March 13 to 18.

The team was selected during a Central Zone selection committee meeting under the chairmanship of Narendra Hirwani on Monday, a press release said.

The selection committee meeting was attended by vice-president of Vidarbha Cricket Association M N Dorairajan, Gyanendra Pandey, Prashant Dwivedi, Vinod Mathur, Ex Group Captain D D Deshpande and Abhay Sharma.

Team: Mohd Kaif (Captain), P Chawla, Tanmay Shrivastava, Bhuvesh Kumar, R P Singh, Ravikant Shukla (all from UPCA), Rajesh Bishnoi, Pankaj Singh, Pranay Sharma (Rajasthan Cricket Association), Jairaj Saxsena, Naman Ojha, Murtaza Ali (Madhya Pradesh), Dhiren Salvi, Murli Kartik (both Railways) and Umesh Yadav.

Standbyes: Karan Sharma, Shailendra Gahlot, Praveen Gupta, V Chilveraj and Mahesh Rawat.
