Bangalore:

The National Cricket Academy at Bangalore is trying to rope in South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes to hone the fielding skills of its trainees. The retired South African star was widely considered to be the best fielder in the game. According to reports, discussions pertaining to financial terms were on with Rhodes, who is expected to make up his mind in a couple of days. If he does decide to make the trip to India, he would be here for a week from June 7 as a fielding consultant. The idea to get Rhodes, known for his exceptional fielding skills, is said to be that of NCA Chairman Sunil Gavaskar. Rhodes, also a useful middle-order batsman, retired last year after being injured during the World Cup in South Africa.
