Ishant penalised by match referee

Ishant Sharma has been fined 10% of his match fee for abusing ground equipment in their match against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali.

The latest player to visit the match referee is Ishant Sharma. The Kolkata Knight Riders pacer has been fined 10% of his match fee for abusing ground equipment in their match against Kings XI Punjab on Saturday in Mohali.

In a press release, the DLF Indian Premier League said that Ishant kicked down the stumps. Clive Lloyd, the match referee hauled him under Level 1.2 offence as mentioned in ICC's Code of Conduct.

Ishant is the second Kolkata player to face the wrath of the match referee. Earlier, Kolkata captain Sourav Ganguly was slapped a fine of 10% match fee for showing dissent on umpire's decision in the match against Rajasthan Royals.

The DLF Indian Premier League is being played as per the ICC Playing Conditions and Rules and is set to follow the guidelines in letter and in spirit.
