Johanessburg:

Australian Captain Ricky Ponting has suffered a hamstring injury and has been ruled out for the rest of the Twenty 20 tournament.

Ponting injured himself while batting during the match against Pakistan. He then called for assistance and the team physio came out and helped Ponting stretch out his leg.

But the injury was obviously quite bad, forcing the skipper to call for a runner. Andrew Symonds came in for the final few balls of his innings.

The skipper did not come out to field and Adam Gilchrist captained the side for the rest of the match.
