Indian captain Sourav Ganguly surprised everyone by turning up for a Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka in Kolkata on Sunday. Ganguly had missed the last two Test matches against Australia because of a groin injury, but the Indian skipper decided that he was fit enough to play in the Ranji game for Bengal. Ganguly made 27 with the help of two sixes. Sourav's presence also bought in more crowds than usual at a Ranji game. However the fans were disappointed that Ganguly failed to make a big score. Ganguly will now go through a fitness test on the November 10 and that will decide whether he can take part in the BCCI Platinum Jubilee match against Pakistan on November 13.
