ICL player arrested for rash driving, released on bail

Ishan Malhotra was arrested by the police and later released on bail in a case of "rash and negligent driving".

Chandigarh:

Ishan Malhotra, an Indian Cricket League player who is part of the Chandigarh Lions team, was arrested by the police and later released on bail in a case of "rash and negligent driving".

"We registered a case against Ishan on the victims' complaint and arrested him. He was later released on bail as the offence is bailable," Station House Officer of Sector 3 police station, Harsahai Sharma said.

Malhotra was involved in an accident here in Sector 8 two days back when he hit two pedestrians with his motorcycle. One of the injured person sustained serious injuries and had to be rushed to the hospital.

"We have registered a case against Ishan under Sections 279/337, which are rash and negligent driving," the police officer said.

Interestingly, Ishan did turn out for last night's T20 match at Panchkula against Lahore Badshahs.
