Subash Chandra has said the tiff between ICL and BCCI is not a personal battle between him and BCCI chief Sahard Pawar.

New Delhi:

Chairman of the Zee group, which has promoted ICL, has said that the tiff between the BCCI and the rebel league is not a personal battle between Board president Sharad Pawar and himself.

In an open letter to the media, Chandra said: "The standoff between the BCCI and the ICL is being painted as a personal tussle between me and Sharad Pawar. Media stories are portraying this as an ego clash between us. Let me set the record straight. Nothing could be further from the truth!"

"I have known Mr Pawar for 20 years and we continue to be good friends. I have been in touch with him since I launched the ICL on 3rd of April and as recently as yesterday. Both of us understand that the standoff is between the BCCI and their associations vs Essel Sports.

"Each organisation is free to pursue its interests. I urge the media to respect our relationship," he added.
