ICC award nominees announced

The nominees for the inaugural ICC cricket awards, billed as the cricket Oscars, have been announced.

The nominees for the inaugural ICC cricket awards, billed as the cricket Oscars, have been announced. A total of 29 players have been nominated with Australia topping the list with six players followed by India with five players. VVS Laxman is the only Indian to have been nominated in the top three categories for the Player of the Year Award - overall and in Tests and one-dayers. Rahul Dravid is nominated in three categories, while Sachin Tendulkar makes the shortlist for just one award - the Best One-Day Player Award. Irfan Pathan has been nominated in the category for Best Emerging Player. The awards will be announced in London on the September 7.
