The India off-spinner says he is confident of clearing the fitness test ahead of the first Test against South Africa.

Jalandhar:

India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh on Thursday expressed confidence that he would prove his fitness in the test to be conducted in Bangalore prior to the Test series against South Africa.

"I am absolutely fit and ready to undergo the proposed fitness test before upcoming Test series with South Africa," Harbhajan, who had a work out at a city gym, told reporters.

Asked whether his visit to the gym was to get fit for the Bangalore test, Harbhajan said it has nothing to do with the fitness test.

"I am quite optimistic of my good performance against South Africa. After winning the tri-series (in Australia), Indian team's morale has been on a high," he added.

Asked about his comments to patch up with Australian batsman Matthew Hayden on the verbal duel during the Australia tour, he said, "I am everybody's friend outside ground, but if someone makes drastic comments on the ground, he should be courageous enough to listen the reply".

Harbhajan hastened to add, "I want to forget the controversies during Australia tour and just want to concentrate on the game."
