London:

England pace bowler Steve Harmison has urged coach Peter Moores and skipper Kevin Pietersen to sort out their differences for the sake of the team.

"They have got to get their heads together and have a chat and sort out the issues," Harmison said.

"It's about the England cricket team - not Peter Moores or Kevin Pietersen."

Pietersen has publicly criticised Moores and has even threatened to resign after he alleged that the coach did not back him over Michael Vaughan's selection to the England team for the tour of the West Indies.

Harmison feels the timing is not right for washing dirty linen in public with the Ashes series just round the corner.

"It's not ideal because we are at the start of an Ashes summer but we don't want it to go on and on with what we've got coming over the next nine months.

"They will come and go like all other players, but they have got to be in harmony because otherwise they will drift the team further apart.

"If there is a problem it needs to be sorted sooner rather than later," Harmison was quoted as saying in 'BBC Sport'.
