Rohan Gavaskar will be replacing Sachin Tendulkar in the ICC Champions Trophy.

London :

The Event technical Committee for the ICC Champions Trophy has approved a request from the Indian Cricket Board to replace injured batting ace Sachin Tendulkar with Rohan Gavaskar. Gavaskar, part of the 15-member Indian squad that was fielded for the Holland tri-series and the NatWest Challenge, was retained in the side for the Champions Trophy after Tendulkar was ruled out of the September 10-25 tournament due to a tennis elbow. Grounds for countries seeking player replacements are classified as either medical- injury or illness. Once a player is replaced in the squad, he can no longer take any part in the tournament. (PTI)
