Four arrested for racist gestures

Four people were reportedly arrested from the Wankhede stadium -- venue of the last ODI -- for making obscene and racist gestures.

Mumbai:

Four people were reportedly arrested from the Wankhede stadium -- venue of the last ODI -- for making obscene and racist gestures during the India-Australia match.

"We have booked the four under Sec 110 (behaving indecently in public) of Bombay Police Act for misbehaviour," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I) Brijesh Singh.

The four -- three men and a woman allegedly made monkey faces.

The detention comes hours after the Indian and Australian cricket boards condemned racism on the cricket pitch.
