Mumbai:

As the victorious Indian cricket team arrived Mumbai at seven in the morning, the International airport resounded with the clamour of drumbeats.

Frenzied fans danced and sang as they waited for the return of the Indian Cricket Team from Johannesbourg.

The Men in Blue emerged about 30 minutes after their flights landed to a packed aisle.

At 9 am, the victory procession began with Mahendhra Singh Dhoni and his boys on top of an open top double decker bus.

As the numbers rose, thousands of fans braved the rain as the T20 world champions danced to the tunes of Chak De.

At Worli, Mumbai's corporate executives joined the party and at Peddar Road, celebrities did the same.

Traffic came to a standstill at the Marine Drive to watch the final crawl towards Wankhede Stadium.
