ESPN cancels ceremony to appoint Ganguly as commentator

Offering condolences to the victims of the Mumbai terrorist attack, ESPN called off an event where in Sourav Ganguly was supposed to come as a commentator.

Offering condolences to the victims of the Mumbai terrorist attack, sports cable television network ESPN on Thursday called off an event in Kolkata where in Sourav Ganguly was supposed to come on board as an 'expert commentator'.

"At this time, we are shocked by the attacks and mourn the sad loss of lives in the Mumbai incidents overnight. We share in the worldwide concern about the safety of people still under threat," ESPN Software India Pvt Ltd managing director R.C. Venkateish said.

"ESPN-STAR Sports will be monitoring the situation and appropriate communication will be issued in due course," he added.
