Dravid retains top slot in renewed contracts

The Indian Cricket Board has retained Rahul Dravid in Grade 'A' list despite his woeful form with the bat in the renewed players' contract.

The Indian Cricket Board has retained Rahul Dravid in Grade 'A' list despite his woeful form with the bat in the renewed players' contract announced on Monday.

Other players upgraded to Grade 'A' list are VVS Laxman, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag.

Pace sensation Ishant Sharma made it to Group 'B' along with S Badrinath, Rohit Sharma, Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina, R P Singh and Munaf Patel.

Spin twin of Amit Mishra and Pragyan Ojha have been offered contract in Grade 'C' along side Piyush Chawla, Wasim Jaffer, Yusuf Pathan and Praveen Kumar.

Players in Group 'A' are given an annual remuneration of Rs 60 lakh while Group 'B', 'C' and 'D' get Rs 40 lakh, 25 lakh and 15 lakh respectively.

Group 'A': Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, M S Dhoni, Zaheer Khan, V V S Laxman, Harbhajan Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh.

Group 'B': R P Singh, Munaf Patel, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Ishant Sharma, S Badrinath, Irfan Pathan

Group 'C': Piyush Chawla, Wasim Jaffer, Yusuf Pathan, Praveen Kumar, Pragyan Ojha, Amit Mishra, S. Sreesanth

Group 'D': Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa, Parthiv Patel, Manpreet Gony, Cheteshwar Pujara, Md. Kaif, Virat Kohli, Ashoke Kumar Dinda, Wriddhiman Saha, Chetnya Nanda, M Vijay, R. Ashwin, Shikar Dhiwan, Sudeep Tyagi.
