The double-sided bat, which is set to revolutionise the way cricket is played now, is going to make its debut in Australia's domestic Twenty20 tournament.

Hard-hitter David Warner of New South Wales and Aiden Blizzard of Victoria will try out the new bats that is bound to give batsman an edge in some way or the other in the shortest version of the game.

Warner tried out the new bat at the SCG nets for the first time yesterday.

"Generally when I'm playing the reverse I'm swapping hands, and now I don't really have to, so it's going to be better. It gives you a couple of extra seconds," said Warner, who signed a contract with Indian Premier League side Delhi Daredevils worth more than USD 250,000.

Warner will try out the new bat out in New South Wales' Twenty20 match against South Australia at Adelaide Oval tomorrow while Blizzard will use it for Victoria against WA at the MCG on Thursday.

The back of the bat could come in handy while going for a reverse sweep or reach forward and scoop the ball over the fielder but Warner does not believe it will give batsman too much of an advantage.

"If people think it's going to be an advantage to batsmen, I have to disagree. The person who is using the timber is in control, so I just see it as another shot for other people to try as well," Warner was quoted as saying in 'The Age'.

"Everyone is trying it these days, especially in Twenty20, so why not have the back of the bat flat as well? It makes it easier, but it's not a real advantage. You've still got to play the shot."
