Dhoni, Zaheer undergo check-up

Dhoni and Zaheer Khan were taken to a local hospital for check-up after sustaining injuries on the second day of the of the second Test against Pakistan.

Indian stumper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and pacer Zaheer Khan were taken to a local hospital for check-up after sustaining injuries on the second day of the second Test against Pakistan in Kolkata.

Dhoni injured a finger on his left hand while collecting Zaheer's delivery, while the bowler felt 'uneasy' with his heel after sending down only two deliveries in his second over. Zaheer did not bowl any more during Pakistan's brief stint in the middle towards the end of the day.

Team manager Lalchand Rajput said pacers R P Singh and S Sreesanth would undergo fitness tests on Sunday as also the day after.

"We need to constantly assess their fitness levels," he said.

R P Singh underwent a fitness test under the watchful eyes of physio John Gloseter yesterday, while Sreesanth's fitnes level was assessed during the day at the Eden Gardens.

Rajput said Yuvraj Singh, who had been released by the team to play for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy elite group match against Bengal that began in Siliguri during the day, had come
back to the city due to a stomach problem.
