Dhoni gets extortion letter

MS Dhoni has recieved an extortion call of Rs 50 lakh. The letter has been signed by one Tasleem, who is yet to be identified.

Indian cricket captain Mohinder singh Dhoni has recieved an extortion call of Rs 50 lakh. The letter has been signed by Tasleem, who is yet to be identified. Dhoni's family, and the police, have confirmed the letter.

The Dhoni family has handed over the the letter to the Superintendent of Police of Ranchi and has demanded extra security cover.

Ealier, Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren directing the police to ensure that armed men, if required commandos, were deployed to guard the high-profile Indian cricket captain.

The Chief Minister yesterday asked the Director General of Police VD Ram, to review Dhoni's security, and replace security personnel with another team of armed men. If required, provide him with commandos," CM's Press Secretary Safiq Ansari said.

Soren's directive came after Dhoni went to the Birsa Munda airport here on December 4 last without any "armed men" to board a flight to Chennai to participate in the selection committee meeting.
