Sourav Ganguly has given his fans in Kolkata several reasons to celebrate through the series against Pakistan.

Kolkata:

Kolkata needs no reason to celebrate their most famous sportstar, but Sourav Ganguly has given his fans in the city several through the series against Pakistan.

So, as expected, the Man of the Series in the Tests returned home to a rapturous welcome late on Wednesday night.

But even the city's 'Maharaja' wouldn't have imagined that escaping the public's gaze at Kolkata airport would end up being as much of an exertion, as any of his practice sessions on the cricket field.

The Man of the Match from the Bangalore Test, Ganguly, had an astounding average of 89 in the Test series.

With his 239 & 91 from that match, he missed the chance to become the seventh batsman to make a double hundred and a hundred in a match.

Not that his fans minded, they were out in full force to celebrate Dada's spectacular return to form.
