Birmingham, England:

England opener Alastair Cook will miss the second limited-overs international against New Zealand with a shoulder injury.

Cook is out of Wednesday's match at Edgbaston after struggling with the injury for the past week. He also missed England's 9-wicket win over New Zealand in a Twenty20 international on Friday and the first one-day international at Chester-le-Street on Sunday.

England leads the five-match one-day series 1-0 after a 114-run win on Sunday.

England test opener Andrew Strauss has been added to the one-day squad as cover. Strauss last played a one-day game in April 2007.
