IPL team Rajasthan Royals' former CEO, Fraser Castellino was appointed COO Sports Marketing Business of UB Group which owns Bangalore Royal Challengers.

Indian Premier League team Rajasthan Royals' former CEO, Fraser Castellino was on Thursday appointed Chief Operating Officer Sports Marketing Business of UB Group which owns Bangalore Royal Challengers.

UB Group Chairman and Royal Challengers boss Vijay Mallya appointed Castellino for the high-profile job of his group days ahead of IPL second season's player auctions on February 6 in Goa.

Castellino will be responsible for all commercial, administrative and sponsor-promotion activities of UB Group's sports concerns -- Force India Formula One team, Mohun Bagan and East Bengal football sides, cricket academy in Bangalore, besides the IPL Bangalore Royal Challengers, a statement said.

"Each team will retain its Sporting Management Organisation as currently existing. The Marketing Divisions responsible for the UB Group's brand association with such sporting activities shall remain unchanged," the statement added.

Commenting on the appointment of Castellino, Mallya said, "The UB Group has significant interests in various sports and with the appointment of Fraser, we hope to significantly enhance the value of the sporting activities in which we currently have interests. The UB Group companies are committed to building superior brand value using sports as an effective platform."
