Cricket Australia doesn't really get along with the BCCI on the ICC table, concedes CA's newly appointed chairman Jack Clarke but rubbishes suggestions that India has seized control of the game.

"It is far from the truth that we are in their pockets or that they run cricket. We disagree with them on issues, and we tell them. We disagree over the ICC table, which is the appropriate stage," Clarke told 'The Herald Sun'.

Clarke said the varied cultural backgrounds of the officials who run the ICC results in a lot of disagreements but insisted that it is better than the system 100 years ago completely dominated by England.

"We are all on the same wavelength in Australia, but the ICC is made up of people from different cultures. What we may call unreasonable behaviour on the field, they may not.

"And what we may call business conflict, they may not. Yet we cannot be the England of 100 years ago: An attitude of either our way or the highway," he said.

The CA chief said it was important to be open to all the views and take things easy to ensure a smooth running of affairs.

"It is important to have a laugh. If you take life too seriously you would have an ordinary life. I think people tend to respond to others a lot better if they don't take themselves too seriously," he said.
