New Delhi: Perhaps one of the best-documented cricket series in recent times was India's tour of Pakistan earlier this year. But while the record books reflect the statistics and the tour diaries reflect the sentiments, ita€™s this latest book which does something just from the power of images. The book contains images such as the Indian and Pakistani cricketers meeting Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf during the recently concluded series in Pakistan. It is images like these that help keep alive the memories of a historic event. "Visiting Mr Musharraf with the teams was a unique experience. There were no other photographers present. I was able to take the kind of photographs that I wanted. The other memorable experience was visiting the Wagah border with the Indian team. Sachin Tendulkar asked me to take a picture of him with one foot on Indian soil, and the other on Pakistani soil," said cricket Photographer Pradeep MandhaniReleased on Monday evening, this is Pradeep Mandhani's third book. This compilation of nearly 1500 photographs is entitled "Jeet liya dil" and each photograph evokes memories of a different aspect of the series. "This book captures the events of that tour very vividly. Everything that happened on and off the field and the warmth and goodwill generated by the tour has been captured very well by Pradeep," said BCCI Media Manager Amrit Mathur. And after providing a pictorial account of what was a historic tour, Pradeep Mandhani now plans a series of books on some of India's prominent cricketers.
