BCCI pension scheme disbursal starts

A sum of Rs 7.15 lakh is to be disbursed today amongst 121 past Test cricketers and 22 umpires all over India.

Mumbai: A sum of Rs 7.15 lakh is to be disbursed today amongst 121 past Test cricketers and 22 umpires all over India as part of the first installment of the pension scheme by the BCCI. The function to disburse the cheques is to be held simultaneously at 6 pm in all the cities where the cricketers and umpires reside, according to BCCI Joint Secretary Ratnakar Shetty. Shetty said that 44 cricketers and six umpires would receive the Rs 5000 monthly cheque each this evening in Mumbai. Out of this lot 35 persons have informed the Mumbai Cricket Association that they would attend the function in Mumbai's Garware Club House at Wankhede Stadium. (PTI)
