Bhopal :

A day after Jagmohan Dalmiya was appointed as BCCI's first-ever Patron-in-Chief, an application terming the step as a contempt of court was moved in a local court today. Civil judge P K Nigam, while reserving verdict on the application by petitioner Bhopal Cricket Association member Yogesh Khattar till tomorrow, asked the Cricket Board to tender a reply on legality of the proposal to make Dalmiya its Patron-in-Chief, by September 20. Khattar, through his counsel Ajay Gupta, had earlier challenged the proposal, claiming appointing a Patron-in-Chief was outside BCCI's rulebook. The judge, on September 10, had restrained BCCI from taking any decision on the proposal, contrary to its rules and regulations. (PTI)
