Mumbai:

The Cricket Board is thinking of barring selection panel chief Dilip Vengsarkar from penning a syndicated newspaper column.

A firm decision on the matter is expected when the Board's office bearers meet here on November 11.

"There's no bar on him from writing his column so far, but any decision to the contrary can be taken when the Board's office bearers are to meet here on November 11," said a BCCI source on Friday.

Significantly, there appears to be a conflict of interest on the issue as the agency, which syndicates Vengsarkar's column also represents the commercial interests of some Indian cricketers, including one-day and Twenty20 captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
