New Delhi:

Bad fielding and the Pakistan cricket team have practically become synonymous with each other.

The third ODI in Kanpur, which India won by 46 runs, saw some absolutely dreadful fielding from both sides. Lapses in the field cost Pakistan the match.

Shoaib Malik, in fact, admitted that the turning point of the match was the dropped catch of Yuvraj Singh.

Fielding woes

Fielding has become a bugbear for the Pakistani team right now. Their wicket keeper, Kamran Akmal, is probably the worst offender.

He dropped Sourav Ganguly off the first ball of the Kanpur game and India went on to an opening stand of 68 runs.

However, the one that really hurt Pakistan was this dropped catch by Salman Butt when Yuvraj Singh was on 26.

Yuvraj rubbed it in by scoring 77 with three sixes and earning the Man of the Match award.

In fact, Pakistan's fielding has been so poor that Jonty Rhodes was drafted in for a two-week spell last year.

Poor fitness

It is not just fielding, even fitness seems to be an issue with Pakistan.

Mohammed Yousuf's run out indicates his poor record in running between the wickets.

In the list of most run outs in one-dayers, there are three Pakistanis in the top five -- Inzamam is at second place, Wasim Akram is at third place and Mohammed Yousuf is tied for fourth place with Rahul Dravid.

However, India can't really afford to laugh at Pakistan's slip-ups in the field.

They seem to be having too many of their own, despite a specialised fielding coach in the form of Robin Singh.
