Australian fans will behave: Ponting

Mumbai:

Australian skipper Ricky Ponting feels the on-field skirmishes going on in the current one day series will have no bearing on India's Tour to Australia later this year.

The Australians have openly complained about the lack of on-field hospitality from the Indians and especially from Sreesanth.

But Ponting believes the Australian fans will behave when India travel Down Under this winter. He also says neither the Indians nor the Australians are making a big deal about racist comments and related incidents in the future Series so far.

"Nothing that's happened here will have any effect back home in Australia. With the exception of one game, I think this series has been played in exactly the right kind of spirit and the right way.

"You can guarantee that the Australian crowds won't be making anything of what's happening here. What the Australian's crowds will look forward to is a good, tight, hard contest and I am sure we will get that when the Indians arrive in Australia," said the Punter.

But before the Indians travel to Australia, there is the small matter of finishing with the one day series and Saturday's Twnety20 encounter. The visitors may have taken an unbeatable 4-1 lead in the seven-match series, but will not lift their foot of the gas peddle.

"What I am trying to get across is that we will go out there not thinking that the game is won and try and do the best that we can," said Brett Lee.

Although Ponting feels that the Australian cricket fans will welcome India with open hearts, but the recent history of touring teams in Australia suggests that the Indian team will have prepare for a tough tour ahead.
