Canberra:

Even as India humbled Australia to take a 1-0 lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, West Indies batting legend Brian Lara feels the World Champions can still fightback to win the four-match Test series.

India's record 320-run win in the second Test in Mohali, Tuesday, might have exposed the vulnerability of the Australian team, but Lara feels the hosts should not take them lightly.

"They (Australia) are still the best team in the world, and there's still two Test matches left. Obviously you have to keep your fingers crossed but I think Australia is capable of winning a Test in India or even the series," Lara was quoted as saying by the Canberra Times.

Lara went on to add that Australia is finding it tough to find a replacement for Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath. But he hoped that Australia would find the replacements soon.

"Australia, with the infrastructure they have, I am sure they have a lot of young cricketers to fill the void," he said.

Lara was here to visit the Australian Institute of Sports to learn about the sports programmes on behalf of University of Trinidad and Tobago.
