Sydney:
Some of Australia's Sports Hall of Fame members like John Bertrand, Herb Elliott and Rob de Castella are planning to complain to Cricket Australia that the behavior of Ricky Ponting's team was damaging Australia's international reputation.
On his part, ICC Chief Malcolm Speed spoke to NDTV to clarify that the ICC had not bowed down to pressure from the BCCI and that they were just trying to take a practical approach to the whole issue.
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team could pull out of the three-nation limited-over series in Australia if the ban on Harbhajan Singh is not revoked.
Top BCCI sources said such an option was being considered by the Board in view of the strong feeling that Harbhajan was innocent and had been punished for no reason.
There was no evidence on the charge of racially abusing Andrew Symonds in the second Test in Sydney.
"It is definitely an option if Harbhajan is not cleared of the charge," the source said. The one-day series also features Sri Lanka.
After a number of angry reactions from former cricketers, the Australian public and explosive articles in the Australian press, the latest to add his voice to the anti-Aussie behaviour movement is former Australian player and current coach of the Pakistan cricket team Geoff Lawson.
"Perception is everything and the outside world believes that this Australian team is arrogant and not well behaved. As an ex-Australian player I was pretty disappointed," said Lawson.
Meanwhile, the BCCI has said that the tour would go on as scheduled, for now.
