Hyderabad:

The Andhra Pradesh police on Sunday said they have no objection to Indian Premier League T20 cricket matches being organised in the state after April 26.

"We have studied the revised schedule submitted by the IPL organisers and accordingly informed them that there is no objection to the conduct of matches after April 26.

"However, matches will not be possible for four days from May 14 when the police will be busy with bandobust duties for counting of votes on May 16," Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) A K Khan said.

The IPL organisers, Deccan Chargers have agreed to the dates suggested by the police and have accordingly started working out a new schedule, Khan said.

IPL matches are scheduled to be held in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh this season.

"The issue is resolved now. We don't see any great difficulty in providing security for the cricket matches," the Additional DGP remarked.

The state police had earlier said they would not be in a position to provide security for the IPL T20 matches as they clashed with the general election schedule.

Even the second schedule announced by the IPL organisers was rejected by the police following which the third alternative schedule was worked out, he said.
