Kolkata: Delhi medium pacer Amit Bhandari is being flown to Australia to strengthen the bowling attack of the Indian team in the ongoing VB Tri-Series. The decision to send Bhandari to Australia was taken after a request from the Indian team management in Australia. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) advised the committee headed by Syed Kirmani to pick up a pace bowler. Bhandari was selected by the members of the senior national selection committee, following a telephonic discussion. Arrangements are being made to send Bhandari immediately to Australia. The 25 year old had made his one day debut against Pakistan in the Asia Cup in Dhaka in the 1999/2000 season. He did very well in the recently concluded Asian A teams limited overs tournament in Kolkata.
