Kolkata:

The selection board will announce the Indian team for the Pakistan tour in Kolkata today. And they have little to worry regarding the batting line-up, given their performance in Australia. However, their main focus will be on the selection of bowlers, because most senior players are yet to recover from injuries. Leg spinner Anil Kumble and fast bowler Ajit Agarkar have been ruled out of the one-day matches due to injuries. Spin question The selection committee has to take a call on whether off spinner Kulamani Parida will get the nod for the tour. Skipper Saurav Ganguly has apparently short-listed the railways off spinner as his first choice, since Harbhajan Singh is also nursing a finger injury. The pace department also looks uncertain because Zaheer Khan has yet to prove his fitness. The fast bowler had only managed to play two Tests in Australia. If Khan is unable to make it, India's bowling attack will depend on the not-so experienced Irfan Pathan and L Balaji. Kaif factor The only change in the batting line-up could be the inclusion of Mohammad Kaif, who has submitted his fitness certificate. But Kaif's inclusion could come at the cost of either Rohan Gavaskar or Hemang Badani. Both had performed well in Australia and it will be a tricky choice for the selectors. The wicket-keeper issue as always is a contentious one for one-dayers. Rahul Dravid is expected to stay on for the ODIs and it will have to be seen if the selectors persist with Parthiv Patel who had done well with the bat but his keeping was not up to the mark in Australia.
