Srinivasan elected AICF President

Chennai:

N Srinivasan was today re-elected as President of the All India Chess Federation at its General Body meeting, which was conducted by a retired High Court judge, as per directions of the Supreme Court. On September 9, the apex Court had instructed Justice A K Rajan, retired judge of the Madras High Court, to conduct the meeting on a petition filed by AICF secretary P T Ummer Koya. Koya had challenged an earlier Madras High Court order in which it had appointed Justice Rajan as observer and directed Srinivsan to convene the election meeting. Justice Rajan said that Srinivasan, D V Sundar of Tamil Nadu and Bharat Singh of Delhi were all elected unopposed as President, Secretary and Treasurer, respectively, of the AICF. (PTI)
