Koneru Humpy beaten in second round

Koneru Humpy lost to Hungary's Antal Gergely in the 2nd round of the First Saturday GM tournament.

Junior world chess champion Koneru Humpy of India lost to Antal Gergely of Hungary in the second round of the First Saturday GM Tournament, being played at Budapest. Humpy, who lost her first two rounds, is placed at the bottom of the table. Ilincic Zlatko (Yug), who defeated Cao Sang (Hung) is leading by two points. Berkes Fernc (Hung), Tejas Bakre (India) and Bokros Albert (Hung) are joint second with 1.5 points. Humpy would play Cao Sang in the third game of the 13-round category IX championship which has players from Hungary, Yugoslavia, USA, Germany, Argentina and England. (PTI)
