Grandmaster Koneru Humpy is looking forward to the new year which brings with it the World Chess Olympiad and World Women's championships. Humpy won the Asian Women's Chess title and finished 12th in the nationals. "I am very happy that I did well even in the men's tournaments and I think I will be having my major tournaments this next year. Next year, I will be participating in the Womens Championships and the Women's Olympiad," Humpy said. Besides Humpy, P Harikrishna and Harika are the other players from Andhra Pradesh who have made it to the ten member Indian squad for next year's Olympiads in Spain. "Olympiad is very important, since it is a very prestigious event. We have seven to eight months, not only for the Olympiad but also general preparation," said Harikrishna. The three young players consider a good practice partner to be high value in improving their game. And while Harika and Harikrishna would like to practice with the likes of Abhijit Kunte, Humpy's favourite practice partner is her father Ashok.
