Koneru Humpy, the first woman from India to achieve the men's Grand Master title, said here on Friday that she was very happy over FIDE confirming the same in its recent meeting at Moscow. After P T Ummer Koya, FIDE vice president announced the World body's decision at Hyderabad, Humpy said "FIDE's decision has inspired me do well in future". Speaking about her future plans, Humpy said, "I am preparing seriously for Second Chess World Cup to be held at Hyderabad from October 9 to 20. I am practicing six hours daily and studying new openings." The 15-year-old lass became the seventh Grand Master in India, others being Viswanathan Anand, Dibyendu Barua, Praveen Thipsay, K Sasikiran, Abhijith Kunte and P Harikrishna. Humpy achieved her GM title at the age of 15 years, one month, 27 days to become the youngest GM in the country. (PTI)
